Tehran, Jan 28, IRNA -- Head of Tehran's Islamic City Council Rahmatollah Khosravi attended Bench 1413 of the Special Judiciary Complex for Government Officials on Sunday to stand for trial behind closed doors. The complaint against Khosravi is filed by the former Tehran police force commander Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Naqdi. According to the Public Relations Office of the Judiciary, during the two-hour hearing General Naqdi's lawyer presented his plaintiff's sue text against Khosravi and then the accused party defended himself. General Naqdi's complaint was filed following the forwarding of a letter by the Tehran City Council to the Islamic Revolutionary Court regarding the assassination attempt against one of the council's members, Sa'eed Hajjarian. According to the Public Relations Office of Tehran City Council, Bench 32 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court had asked the council to declare all of the related information that the Tehran Council had received on Hajjarian's assassination. The council then organized a special committee and assigned it the duty of The above-mentioned committee prepared the requested report and the head of the city council signed it as the procedure is in such cases. At the end of the closed hearing session, Kosravi was freed on the bail that he had deposited during the interrogation session, held earlier last month. Naqdi himself stood for trial in November 2000, accused of organizing the famous anti-student ambush in a Tehran student dormitory that left many seriously wounded students and lots of material losses. General Naqdi later was acquitted of all charges, but all the same lost his post at the disciplinary force. Khosravi is the second authority that Naqdi is filing a complaint against.
