The Islamic Republic of Iran has announced that two women have been sentenced to death by stoning in Iran. Ms Sima who has been in prison for 8 years and Ms. Ferdous B. who has been in prison for 12 years are due to being murdered in this most brutal form of execution. The Islamic regime has also acknowledged that in the past two weeks 14 people have been executed either in prison or in public. According to Amnesty International, there are 20 more due to be executed in the coming weeks. Apart from execution and stoning, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been amputating hands and legs of several people. Despite this, there are still people in the 'opposition' who defend the regime and oppose its overthrow.
The WPI calls on all freedom-loving people to organise a decisive confrontation against capital punishment and stoning. These are all means by which the Islamic Republic aims to prevent the 'social explosion', which its leaders are daily referring to. The Islamic Republic is taking its last gasps, however, and these attempts will not be of any use.
