TEHRAN, June 27 Asia Pulse - The fifth session of Iran-Italy joint economic commission is to be held late November or early December 2001 in Tehran, it was announced here on Tuesday. Mohammad Taqizadeh Ansari, Industries and Mines Ministry director general in charge of international affairs told IRNA that Italy has recently proposed a plan on bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries. The Islamic Republic believes that the Italian proposal will not help improve small and medium industries and will not result in increase in industrial production, he added. Iran believes that before bilateral cooperation in the area of small and medium size industries begins, organizations from both sides should start work jointly, Ansari said. He said that Iran's policy towards Italy has always been based on expansion of quantitative and qualitative cooperation with that European country. Ansari expressed the hope that bilateral cooperation's policy regarding the small and medium size industries will be made prior to holding the fifth session of the economic commission. IP: Logged |
